Ignorance

Well, I thought I heard it all. One of the couples from the church that I visited asked me what did I want to be called. At first I was confused. Then the guy, we'll call him Luther, said " well do you like to be called Negro, Black, or African American?" First thing I want everyone to understand is that they are only schooled to 8th grade by their own people. After explaining what I personally like to be called he almost asked the big NO NO....Nigger word...but I stopped him. And told him that he was very very lucky that he was asking me and not someone else who would possibly get offended. Then the weirdest thing happened, he turned to his wife and said "so I guess your a nigger". She didn't even reply

7 weeks to go

Reason #1 for me being sent here

I guess its about time for me to tell the first of two reasons I think that I was sent here. There are some people that I met of a religion that is very different from mine, as I am Baptist and they are Mennanite (I may have spelled it wrong). Anyway, one of the couples I met went as missionaries to Africa and adopted an African little girl.

Reason number one.....to ensure that this couple knows how to do this little girls hair. They asked me 1 million questions about hair care. So I went to Sallys beauty supply and bought several products for them to use. They also told me that because her skin was so dry, they were putting the hair products on her body, even her face...no wonder her face was all broke out and she is only 3 yrs old!!!!

Poor, poor little black girl!

Fun

I am soooo happy that there is oh so much to do here. Actually it's so boring that every two weeks I have to go to Missoula (1 hour away) just to get my nails done! When I do go to Missoula, the only thing there is the mall....you can only walk the mall so many times, especially when you don't need anything.

Everyone here at the B&B is sick. So I hope I don't get sick. But I guess at least work is going great, except for the on calls. I know one thing if I did drugs, I could ask anyone here in town since a lot of people are on something around here. Also I found out, for all you pot people, that weed is legal for medicinal purposes in this state!!!! YES you heard me.

8 weeks and 2 days!

On Call

Thank goodness I don't have to work any more weekends. Whew!!! If you work a weekend here it is from Friday night midnight until Monday morning at 6. if you do not stay at the hospital, then you have to be able to get within 20 min, which is fine, but when you work that many days and keep getting called back it is very tiring. I lived in fear the weekend I was on call. I was afraid to eat, shower, or sleep for fear that as soon as I would start something I would get called and I would not make it to the hospital in the 20 minutes. Well no more weekends, but I still have 1 or 2 calls per week.

9 more weeks....I am so counting down

New Place

So tuesday Jan 23, I got everything moved into the new place with the help of my coworker, we will call him Thor. Thor had a big huge truck and was nice enough to help me move everything to the new room....yes I said room. Oh I get a room how great...but I will get back to that. Anyway, thanks to Thor the moving transition went smooth and I took him for Chinese the next day to thank him.

Ok, back to this room. My two dogs, myself and all of my crap get a room. The room is nice for a few days, but for 10 weeks....uhm...that might be another story...At this point I am not going to complain about anything else. Everytime I complain about my situation, it gets worse. So for the next 10 weeks my lips are shut, even if I have hardly no privacy, staying in a room that the door does not lock when I leave, living with people who admit to going in your room when I am not there, having to go the garage to access the refrigorator for my food just so I can cook...oh wait, there I go complaining.

I do have it figured out though..I have been sent here..for two reasons. The two reasons will be revealed in future blogs.

More Madness!!

Well, Monday night Crazy Lady called me as I was trying to go to sleep. She told me that she was going to have the neighbor put down some sand in the area that I keep getting stuck in. She also told me that I had to buy studded tires. I then informed her that unless she was going to personally pay for the tires that I was not going to purchase such an expensive item to use for 2 months and never be able to use again. Crazy lady then became very irate, and started to raise her voice at me. I told her again (as I have in previous conversations) not to call me, especially so late and if she had any problems she needed to call my housing recruiter. So I thought that was the end of everything....of course not.

Tuesday, while at work I had to get a rental car (a cool Pt Cruiser), my company found a new place for me to stay, and I had to deal with Crazy lady a few more times. Well, Crazy lady called me and left me a message saying that she was sorry, that she was in the wrong, and she would pay for me to get studded tires put on my car after work. She kept calling and calling and calling. Little did she know arrangements had already been made for the move. I think I might see if she need lithium or something stronger...she is truly crazy.

Stuck Truck

AHHHHH!!!! I got stuck today coming up this freakin mountain. I have a 2 wheel drive pick up truck and there was plenty of snow yesterday. I made it almost all the way home and then my back end swung around into a ditch. It took me 30 minutes to get out. I keep getting stuck because crazy lady won't get the road plowed, although she promised to keep the road clear. What to do, what to do?
